WHAT TO EXPECT
Getting Started
Beginning care with a new provider can feel like a significant step. Here is what you can expect.
Before your visit
Once your appointment is scheduled, you will receive an invitation to our secure patient portal, Onpatient.com. Through the portal, you may complete your intake paperwork in advance, allowing for a quick and simple check-in on the day of your appointment. If you are scheduling on behalf of a child or teenager, a parent or guardian will need to complete this paperwork.
Your first appointment
Your initial consultation typically lasts 60 to 90 minutes, allowing your provider ample time to understand your history, your goals, and what has brought you to our practice, rather than moving quickly through a standard intake form. From there, your provider will discuss appropriate next steps, whether that involves therapy, medication management, further evaluation, or a combination of these approaches.
Payment at your visit
Since Atara Health does not bill insurance, there is no need to wait on prior authorization or eligibility verification before your visit. You will know the cost of your session in advance, and payment is handled at the time of your appointment. Should you wish to seek reimbursement from your insurance company, FSA, or HSA, we are happy to provide an itemized receipt, known as a superbill, upon request.
Our Mission
To provide thoughtful, individualized behavioral health care for adolescents, young adults, and adults, combining psychotherapy and medication management to support lasting well-being for every patient we serve.
