Frequently Asked Questions
Do you accept insurance?
No. Atara Health is a private-pay practice. We do not bill insurance directly, allowing your provider to make treatment decisions based on your individual needs rather than what an insurance plan will cover. Many patients use a superbill, provided upon request, to seek partial reimbursement from their insurer for out-of-network care.
How much does a session cost?
Please see our Fees & Payment page for current pricing.
What ages do you treat?
Mary provides care for children, adolescents, and young adults age 10 and older. Norm provides care for adults ages 18 to 64. Together, our providers offer behavioral health support across most of the lifespan.
Do you offer therapy, medication management, or both?
Both. Depending on your needs, we offer psychotherapy, medication management, or a combination of the two, tailored to your age, situation, and goals.
What conditions do you treat?
We treat a wide range of behavioral health conditions, including anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and ADHD, among others. Please visit our Conditions We Treat page for more information.
Do you treat ADHD?
Yes, ADHD is one of the many conditions we treat, with different paths depending on age. For patients seventeen and younger who have not been previously assessed, Mary conducts evaluations directly. For adults who have not undergone a formal assessment, we are currently unable to conduct new ADHD evaluations in-house; however, we are glad to provide medication management once a patient has completed formal psychological or neuropsychological testing elsewhere and shared the results with us. Existing patients with questions about their specific situation are encouraged to reach out, as these matters are handled on a case-by-case basis.
Do you offer telehealth?
Yes. We offer both in-person and virtual visits to accommodate your schedule and location.

Why ADHD Treatment Is Important
Getting formally diagnosed and treated for ADHD is crucial for several reasons.
- A proper diagnosis can clarify the challenges a person faces, helping them understand their behavior and feelings.
- Treatment options, including medication and therapy, can significantly improve focus, organization, and emotional regulation, leading to enhanced daily functioning.
- Early intervention can lead to better academic and professional outcomes, reducing feelings of frustration and low self-esteem.
- A formal diagnosis can provide access to support systems, accommodations, and resources, fostering a more positive and fulfilling life.
Ultimately, understanding and managing ADHD empowers individuals to reach their full potential.
